Helsinki, Finland, May 29, 2018. Tieto announced that ASPIDER-NGI is using Tieto network solutions to extend their operator interconnects. ASPIDER-NGI is a provider of independent mobile solutions for managing IoT connectivity.
ASPIDER-NGI delivers and supports voice, data, SMS, multi-IMSI and eSIM products to manage billions of connections. To increase versatility, operators require better 2G and 3G networks to allow better coexistence with 4G and 5G networks. ASPIDER-NGI is therefore extending its core technology to better support old and new generation networks.
Tieto Smart Signalling
By deploying the Tieto smart signaling products, ASPIDER-NGI is able to support a wider range of operators and their various network technologies and transformation from 2G to 5G. The solution also allows ASPIDER-NGI more seamless migration between its existing SS7, SIGTRAN and Diameter infrastructure. The solution is designed to serve various operators’ technology needs and future-proof investments.
“Our IoT business requires that we have the economies of scale to support our clients’ growth independent of the underlying interconnects.” says Jan Mooijman, CEO ASPIDER-NGI. “With Tieto, we can take advantage of the latest technologies and deploy across our global data centers.”
“Despite heavy investments in and focusing on 4G and 5G, 2G and 3G are still the backbone of many operator networks. This means that legacy network technologies need to coexist with the newer generations. Furthermore, the industry demands better interworking between fixed and mobile networks.” says Jörgen Trank, Lead Product Manager, Product Development Services, Tieto. ”We enable the full utilization of network technologies to give operators the best services possible. Our extensive experience is an enabler for future-proof support for everything an operator needs.”
“This is much more than just virtualized addition to our core.” commented Tony Craven, CIO at ASPIDER-NGI. “Tieto provides us more flexibility and security so that our clients can migrate easier between 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. Our clients want to take advantage of multiple interconnects, and migrate on their own schedule often on a country by country basis. And they want control that is independent of the underlying network.”
“Infradata has extensive knowledge of mobile network technology and assisted ASPIDER-NGI with the search for the best solution that fits the ASPIDER-NGI needs.” says Robbie van Rooijen, Infradata. “We also helped with the rollout of the project to support interoperability requirements.”
The Netherlands, Feb 27, 2018. ASPIDER-NGI, provider of independent mobile solutions for managing IoT connectivity, announced a partnership with SIMPoint. SIMPoint is a specialist in IoT, M2M and Lora connectivity.
The partnership provides full access to ASPIDER-NGI IoT and eSIM solutions. This includes instant online access, with simple controls to activate, control and analyse. The result allows partners to better manage their customers. The program provides full access to bootstrap profiles, multi-IMSI solutions, and remote SIM provisioning.
“We provide our customers with the right SIM cards for their M2M and IoT solutions.“ said Rob Lammers, SIMPoint MD. “With the ASPIDER-NGI components for eSIM & IoT, we can remove the traditional commercial and technical lock-ins. “This also allows us to add new profiles for our customers without a SIM swap.”
The program delivers control to SIMPoint, so they have the flexibility to better manage their business and support their clients.
- Own the eSIM and manage Apps and Operator profiles.
- Activate and deactivate ASPIDER-NGI subscriptions at anytime.
- Pay only for what is used, only on active SIMs.
- Full control to create custom price-plans and contract terms.
- Full pooling of usage across devices with no bundle breakage.
- Manage preferred networks and coverage per country.
- Add SIM applications, authentication and security to the eSIM.
“We have taken a new approach since clients demand control and ownership for IoT and M2M.” says Michel Zwijnenberg, VP Strategy & Business Development IoT & eSIM at ASPIDER-NGI. “We enable service providers to give their customers freedom and control. The result is removal of lock-ins and provides ownership of your own SIM. “Now we are adding partners to deliver localized solutions.”
Rob continued, “Ownership and control over our eSIM gives SIMPoint customers more flexibility. “Customers therefore get the options to improve solution coverage and longevity. “We are also inviting our strategic operator partners to use the SIMPoint eSIM so they can extend their market penetration.”
“Working with Trade associations like BTG showed us that resellers are well positioned to deliver IoT and eSIM solutions.” says Jan Mooijman, CEO ASPIDER-NGI. “We are therefore looking to build exclusive relationships for specific verticals with innovative partners like SIMPoint.”
SIMPoint is a business partner of KPN and one of the fastest growing IoT connectivity specialists in The Netherlands and The Caribbean. We deliver customized M2M connectivity on Low Power Wide Area Networks (LoRa). Customized data plans, variable durations, extended security (VPNs, customized APNs) and full control with our customer portal and control center.
The partnership with ASPIDER-NGI completes our portfolio. We are therefore able to deliver worldwide high class connectivity for M2M, LoRa (Netherlands only) and soon LTE-CatM and NB-IoT. ASPIDER-NGI and IDEMIA license technologies to accelerate eSIM implementations.
The Netherlands, June 28, 2017. ASPIDER-NGI, a leading provider of MVNE, IoT, connectivity and content solutions, announced a partnership with OT-Morpho (now IDEMIA). IDEMIA is a world leader in digital security and identification technologies.
The ASPIDER-NGI is providing IDEMIA with a portfolio of fallback, bootstrap and operational profiles, SMS numbering and IoT eConnect. IoT eConnect is a preconfigured Service Delivery Platform to manage connectivity to the network from provisioning and activation to billing. The components will be integrated to IDEMIA’s eSIM and Subscription Management solution (SM-DP and SM-SR). The result is to deliver out of the box solutions to their clients which includes remote provisioning.
“This past year we have been collaborating very closely with ASPIDER-NGI on a range of eSIM projects and we are very pleased that ASPIDER-NGI is using our technology as part of their solution to deliver additional connectivity possibilities to their customers.” said Viken Gazarian, OT-Morpho, Deputy Managing Director of Connected Device Makers business, OT. “Our platform will enable them to create a secure connection to the eSIM integrated to the devices for the remote provisioning and activation of mobile subscriptions. Compliant with GSMA standards, this solution allows usage of the best cellular network at all times during the device’s life-time in a secure and flexible way.”
“We are seeing more and more businesses that acknowledge the eSIM technology as the best option for them to manage the connectivity of their devices and equipments in a flexible way. Integrating the subscription management with the service management is an obvious step” – Michel Zwijnenberg, VP of IoT at ASPIDER-NGI. “This means that we can deliver a more complete solution. A solution that includes all the components needed to get eSIM deployed quickly.”
eSIM: Control and Ownership
The eSIM technology is significant not just because it supports remote management of the operator profiles used, but also because the manufacturer or enterprise can use it to better manage the device connectivity. And also manage it over the device lifetime in order to get the optimum QoS & coverage depending on specific location. In addition, the enterprise can control and own the applications and security on the eSIM – and use that to distribute and manage enterprise connectivity and applications.
ASPIDER-NGI is using these initiatives to launch “eSIM eConnect” later this quarter. This product allows the enterprise to own and control their SIMs. Our eSIM Connect also allows firms to manage SIMs using technology trusted by their operator partners.
Zwijnenberg continued: “Manufacturers and enterprises are starting to recognize the huge value of delivering applications, managing devices and tracking behavior.”
